The room is newly decorated and the breakfast itself is fresh and healthy. The location is excellant and amazing, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from Ambleside Pier. And its nestled in a very nice clean building near to Ambleside has to offer as well as all shops bars and restaurants.

We really enjoyed the continental breakfast, which had an excellent range of food items, many of them locally produced. The room was spacious and clean, but the shower was rather average and we would prefer a power walk in shower rather than the Jacuzzi bath

The hotel was within 2 minutes walk of Ambleside, easy parking. The room was very comfortable however we did stay on the top floor which had steep steps upto the room. The bathroom looked recently refurbished and very clean. The bed was very comfy.

Clean room, friendly staff, with free Wi-Fi in rooms making it easy to plan our city explorations each day.
Absolutely nothing.

Not having a member of staff on duty over night proved to be a problem for us because we had some inconsiderate people above our room blasting out music between 12.30 and 01.45. Without actually getting up trying to find out who and where exactly the music was coming from and then potentially ending up in an akward position with someone is not my idea of a relaxing night ! I spoke to the owner the next morning after breakfast and he seemed completely un phased by my complaint! No apology explanation or compensation of any form was offered .

Very spacious rooms with excellent views and friendly, helpful staff. I also liked the continental breakfast which offered a huge choice and option to take back to your room, where there was seating etc to eat.
Only gripe on the room was the hot water was a little bit inconsistent between 6 and 7pm. Price was also a little on the high side, should be £100 max for a double room.

Overall the stay at the hotel was a good experience. The breakfast seemed to have good quality food. The room -although on the ground- was suprisingly very private and quiet. The jacuzzi in the bath was a plus. The location in the town was excellent and the free car park was also a plus.
When I tried to access the Wi-Fi from my room (with the given log in details by the hotel) it did not seem to work at all. My trip was half holiday half business, hence having internet access was vital. Also, the room lacked black out blinds on the window which made the room very bright far too early in the morning.

B rathay Lodge is an excellent Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is self service but ample choice and the staff are on hand to help and clear away. We will definitely use this accomodation again.
